Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu Monthly Bible Study
Building a Community of Strong Men Through Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu
What Is Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu?
Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu is a free monthly gathering at Taps BJJ focused on faith, fellowship, and training. We welcome you whether you're a long-time believer, new to exploring your faith, or simply curious.
Our mission is simple: To build a community of strong men through Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu.
While we focus primarily on men, women are always welcome to attend and participate.
Why We Started This
The name "Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu" isn't my creation; it comes from a group in Dallas, Texas with a simple mission: talk about faith and train Jiu-Jitsu. I loved the concept and wanted to bring it to Taps BJJ.
Inspired by that model, we launched our own version at Taps BJJ to bring together individuals who want to grow stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually. I chose Saturday at 8:30 AM because it's a time when most people are off work, and it requires a small sacrifice of sleep, comfort, or morning family time. I truly believe that God blesses and recognizes sacrifice when done in His name and for His glory. God knows our hearts, and any sacrifice made for Him will not go unnoticed. I also believe it's a great way to start the weekend: Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu!
What to Expect
When: First Saturday of every month at 8:30 AM
Free – Open to all (you don’t have to be a member of Taps or even a BJJ practitioner)
For each session, our focus will be on learning from the great examples God has given us, the men of the Bible. Each month, we'll highlight a specific male biblical figure, and our newsletter will introduce the topic and discussion questions in advance.
Devotion & Discussion (25 min)
We'll study the lives of biblical men and apply their lessons to our own lives. This is a laid-back Bible study. No one is required to lead or share. If you just want to sit and listen, that’s great.Jiu-Jitsu Training (Open Mat)
After our study, we train. No matter your experience level, you’re welcome on the mats. Sessions will adapt based on the skill levels present.
Make sure you’re subscribed to our Jesus and Jiu-Jitsu Newsletter. If you’re not on our list, send us an email and we will get you added.
