Head Instructor/Owner

Jesse started his Jiu-Jitsu journey in January of 2007 and is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Steve Hordinski III (Relson Gracie black belt) of Katharo Training Center.

He has competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and has tested his jiu-jitsu in mixed martial arts, achieving a 2-0 record. Jesse has also trained extensively in Muay Thai and boxing.

Jesse is an 20-year law enforcement veteran and has been a certified instructor in numerous law enforcement-related defensive tactics and arrest control systems, including the Gracie Survival Tactics program Level I and II. Jesse is also an Effective Fitness Combatives instructor.

Reid Perry has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2007 and earned his black belt from Justin Dodge in 2021.

He’s been teaching both kids and adults for over 10 years and focuses on building strong fundamentals. Professor Perry leads the 8:00 AM class every Monday and Friday.

Reid has 16 years of law enforcement experience and currently serves on a regional SWAT team.

Joe Clark has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2009 and was awarded his black belt by Professor Steve Hordinski III in August 2023. Professor Joe is our 4-7 year old kids class instructor.

He has been an active competitor on the local BJJ competition scene competing in dozens of tournaments, from 2009-2023. Joe won the 2013 Gi Colorado State Championship as a blue belt and competed in Fight2win Pro super fight cards as a purple and brown belt.

With years of experience teaching young children, Professor Joe knows how to make learning fun while helping kids build confidence, coordination, and discipline through BJJ. Parents love his positive attitude, and kids love coming to class with him!

Anthony Williams has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2014 and is a brown belt under Professor Steve Hordinski III. Anthony started coaching in 2020 at Katharo Training Center and then at Zenith BJJ in 2022. Anthony is our 4-7 year old kids class instructor.

Anthony is especially passionate about making Jiu-Jitsu accessible, including teaching private lessons to students with special needs. While his focus has been more on coaching than competing, Anthony has trained with many legends of the sport, including Jean Jacques Machado, Henry Akins, Lucas Lepri, Nate Diaz, Relson and Royce Gracie, Javier Vazquez, Pedro Sauer, Fabio Santos, and others.

Anthony serves as a Deputy in Arapahoe County and strongly believes in the importance of Jiu-Jitsu training for law enforcement officers.

In 2009, Dartagnan began his judo journey under Sensei Shane Hudson, quickly earning an opportunity to train under Sensei Ed Liddie at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. His rise in the sport coincided with the release of ESPN’s Carry On documentary, which brought national attention to his inspiring story. Over the next decade, Dartagnan went on to become a two-time Paralympic Bronze Medalist and an IBSA World Champion, representing the United States in nearly twenty countries.

Today, Dartagnan brings that world class experience to his students with a teaching style built on fundamentals, creativity, and strong mental focus. Combining his background as a professional educator with his elite judo experience, he creates a structured yet adaptive learning environment that helps every student grow. Whether their goals are competition, fitness, or self-improvement. His inclusive approach ensures that judo is accessible to everyone, including visually impaired athletes, while fostering discipline, confidence, and a love for the art.
