Striking

Kickboxing
Kickboxing is a combat sport that combines striking techniques from both boxing and traditional martial arts, utilizing combinations of punches and kicks. In kickboxing, you’ll learn how to throw effective combinations using your fists and legs while also incorporating basic defensive techniques such as blocking, slipping, and footwork. Kickboxing teaches practical self-defense skills by training you to react quickly, strike effectively, and defend against common attacks. Kickboxing is a fun and challenging way to get in shape, build strength, and improve overall coordination, balance, and cardio endurance. You are required to bring your own gloves (14-16 oz), shin guards, and hand wraps for class.
Boxing
Boxing is a combat sport that involves fighting with only fists. In boxing there are four main punches: the jab, cross, hook, and uppercut. These punches are put together to form “combinations” which are intended to effectively maximize the damage on your opponent. Boxing also utilizes defensive tactics to reduce the likelihood of being hit in return. Boxing emphasizes footwork, angles and head movement in order to slip/dodge punches and to effectively create openings for your own attacks. Boxing is also a great and fun way to get in shape. You are required to bring your own gloves and hand wraps for class.
